Sam Polcer is the editor-in-chief of MyMidwest, the inflight magazine for Midwest Airlines, and a contributing writer, editor and photographer for other titles put out by Ink, one of the world's largest contract publishing companies.

After graduating from N.Y.U. film school, Sam collected a series of job titles: lighting/visual designer, AV producer, video editor and documentary filmmaker, to name a few. In 2003, he answered an ad in the back of a newspaper inviting interested parties to "Run Away and Join the Circus!" One year later, an article in which he documented his experience as a lighting assistant for the Big Apple Circus appeared in the now-defunct music mag Mixer. Thus began a side career as a freelance writer/photographer—feature stories, event coverage, record reviews, that kind of thing. Eventually, the travel magazine industry came a-calling with a full-time position, and here we are.

Editing allows Sam to combine his interests and has helped him become the kind of writer and photographer that other editors are keen to work with. He lives and works in Brooklyn, NY, and is up for an adventure. Perhaps you know of something? He'd love to hear from you at sam.polcer@gmail.com.
